3 Tips for Building Mobile Apps

Intel’s idea was ambitious: build a multi-platform, one-click migration solution for users to easily move their mobile and PC content into the cloud. Intel wanted transferring content like audio, video, documents, and photos to be as simple and fluid as possible for their users, and they needed a quality team that could do everything: designing, developing, marketing and launch.
So, in September 2013 Intel came to Sourcebits for one of our Innovation Strategy Workshops to fully flesh out their idea and see what solutions we could come up with.
It was a challenge. Intel had specific branding requirements, and we ended up developing 4 applications altogether while making sure our custom engineering solutions supported iOS, Android, and Windows equally. We came up with two options to best fit every user’s experience, Custom Migration and Quick Migration.
We were very involved with Intel every step of the way and performed a full range of services besides designing and developing the apps. Our launch strategy included email marketing and retail store displays, among others. In the marketing aspect, we created a responsive web page as well as 3 app demo videos. We also performed ASO to dramatically improve search discoverability in the app stores.
After months of work, both Intel and Sourcebits enjoyed a very successful launch in August. After the launch, we did extensive customer support by answering customer questions and keeping Intel’s website’s FAQ current and updated.
Intel enjoyed their experience with us as much as we did with them. Said John Tennant, Worldwide Director of Marketing, “From the concept creation workshop, through design and development of Easy Migration, to supporting our marketing efforts, Sourcebits has gone above and beyond to deliver excellence. The easiest move Intel made with this project was hiring the talented Sourcebits team.”
Intel Easy Migration has been an enormous project for us at Sourcebits, but a thoroughly rewarding one. To get a behind-the-scenes look at our tried-and-tested process, click here to read the full case study.
