An extremely graphic video on YouTube of a woman taking a dump and then throwing her poop at an employee claims the incident occurred at Starbucks. But that’s not entirely true.
The viral video, however, is real, and despite being more than half a decade old, it is still as shocking as it was when it first happened. With time, the coffee chain Starbucks has become associated with the unfortunate incident, but let us tell you the facts.
Did a woman really throw poop at a Starbucks’ employee?
No, the employee at whom the woman in question reportedly flung her feces did not work for Starbucks, and neither did the incident take place at the restaurant like some videos on YouTube claim.
It is a classic case of misleading headlines, even though the content it presents is authentic. Starbucks obviously didn’t deserve a poop story to be attached to its reputation.

The scarring story is real and happened in 2018 at a British Columbia restaurant in Canada.
Vice reports, the video depicts an encounter gone bad between a Tim Hortons customer and one of its employees, when the latter reportedly stopped the lady from going to the bathroom.

The exact reason that prompted the employee to stop the woman from answering nature’s call remains unclear because the restaurant pointed at the lady’s “past behavior.”
Graphic video of a lady defecating at a coffee house went viral
The restaurant footage sans sound shows the lady and the employees behind the counter engaging in an argument.
A few seconds into the video, the woman is seen walking away from the counter as she proceeds to untie the sleeves of her shirt around her waist, only to pull her pants down and lean against the back of a booth and poop on the floor.
Just when you think you had seen enough for a lifetime, she picks the turd up and flings it across the counter, which we can assume was aimed at the employee with who she seemingly bickered before engaging in the shocking act.
Before pulling her pants up, she picks a few napkins to wipe her hands and her behind before throwing them in the same direction as her poop.
She was reportedly taken into custody for defacing in public and later released. It isn’t clear if she was charged or not for the rather unacceptable behavior.
Restaurant addressed the incident
In a statement that was issued after the incident, Tim Hortons reportedly claimed the lady pooper wasn’t allowed to use their washroom owing to her “past behavior and out of concern for the immediate safety of team members and guests in the restaurant.”
“We are deeply concerned by this video as the safety of our team members and guests is always a top priority for us.
“In limited cases across the country, restaurants have a restricted access policy for restrooms to ensure the well-being of our guests,” the statement read.
