  We develop graphics and imaging applications on Mac OS X's using its native graphics stack which is composed of Quartz, OpenGL, and QuickTime. In addition to these we make extensive use of Core Image which is part of the Core Graphics Framework. • Video/Audio Applications

  At Sourcebits we have developed quite a few Video, Audio applications for Mac OS X platform that are based on QuickTime. Fpr Video applications we take advantage of QTkit, the modernized object-oriented programming interface—to easily create QuickTime-savvy Cocoa-based Mac OS X applications. We also make extensive use of Quartz, Core Video, Core Audio & Core Animation to develop multimedia applications.

• Driver Development

  Sourcebits uses the I/O Kit, Apple's object-oriented driver-development framework, to create in-kernel or application-level drivers for driver development. In addition, the I/O Kit adds threading, communication, and data-management primitives for dealing with issues related to multiprocessing, task control, and I/O-transfers; and a robust, efficient match-and-load mechanism that scales well to all bus types.

• Server/Client/Database Applications

  We develop Server/Client applications using various native programming interfaces offered by Mac OS X Server/Client platform. Some of the services/programming interfaces that we actively use to develop these applications are Open Directory for centralized LDAP directory-based resource management, Open Directory plug-in libraries, networked file sharing services, Common UNIX Printing System etc etc.

• Games

  Games are all about high-performance graphics, great sound and no hassle networking. We at Sourcebits have extensive experience in OpenGL, CGDirectDisplay for immersive and "cinematic" 3D graphics and also high-performance 2D "sprite" graphics. For sound we use OpenAL leveraging Apple's Core Audio API. For networking we use Bonjour zero-configuration networking architecture and I/o Kit.

• Application/Game Porting

  Sourcebits is at home when it comes to porting applications/games from windows to mac. We use Xcode that provides a user interface to many industry standard and open source tools, including the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC), javac, jikes, and the GNU Debugger (GDB). Xcode contains templates for creating applications, frameworks, libraries, plug-ins, command-line tools, and Java applications and applets, and supports both Cocoa and Carbon development using C, C++, Objective-C, and Java.

• PHP & MySQL

  PHP/MySQL is currently the most popular serverside technology combo in the world, almost always available on all web hosts. Their open-source nature, popularity and easy of development in the platform has lead to the development of hundreds of thousands of PHP/MySQL websites supporting serverside processes. PHP/MySQL have proven to be very efficient for managing relatively minor tasks on small-size websites to running immensely popular websites.

• Ruby on Rails

  Ruby on Rails, a very popular Model View Controller (MVC) web framework created by David Heinemeier Hansson, is the inspiration behind many of the PHP based web frameworks we see today. It is written in Ruby (Made in Japan), a very elegant object-oriented language.   The Adobe technology package of Flash, Flex and AIR, programmed using ActionScript 3.0 are alternative interfaces to traditional HTML/JavaScript browser content and desktop applications. • TangledDecals
  
  Tangled Decals is an Adobe Flex Rich Internet Application with which you can customize your stuff like iPod Cases, T-shirts etc before ordering them from the store.
  
  The application lets you customize using props, text, ability to change the color of the items, and support for various drawing tools. This application is developed using ActionScript 3.0 and Flex version 3.0.
• Nerve Music Store
  
  Nerve Music Store is a demonstrative music store. You can browse and search records in a very slick and intuitive interface.
  
  Nerve Music Store demonstrates the use of advanced CSS (CSS 3), JavaScript (jQuery & JSON) and AJAX technologies in the creation of an e-commerce website supporting a totally Web 2.0 shopping cart. Despite the effects and looks, the website is totally standards-compliant.
• QuestionPad
  
  QuestionPad is a community driven "Question and Answer" portal with a rating and rewarding system. It also includes a detailed user profile system and supports wall to wall and private messages among the users. The site is currently in alpha stage.
  
  At the clientside we used XHTML, JavaScript, Prototype and Scriptaculous JavaScript libraries, and CSS for building the interface. PHP and MySQL drives the serverside component of the website.
• WebConf
  
  WebConf is an online realtime video conference system developed as a rich internet application in Adobe Flex. It supports user accounts, time slots, text-based chat terminal, audio controls, and streamed audio and video.
  
  WebConf is a FMS (Flash Media Server) application with a Flex interface. The serverside was developed in ActionScript 2.0. The client-side uses object-oriented ActionScript 3.0 and custom components.
• Publishy
  
  Publishy is a JavaScript-based SVG editor. Publishy supports Freehand, Text, Rectangle, Circle, Bezier Curve, Color fill and Color margin tools, and the ability to save the SVG graphics on your hard disk.
  
  The serverside component is driven by Ruby on Rails, and the front-end is developed using XHTML, CSS and JavaScript (for SVG data manipulation, AJAX and DHTML).
• PixelPerfect
  
  PixelPerfect is an online graphics editing rich internet application developed in Flex with support for uploading images, saving edited images, transparency, layers, undo-redo, image effects, cropping and other common image editing tools.
  
  Image uploading and saving is handled by PHP. The image editing part is completely hadled by Flex using the BitmapData class.
• Casino UI
  
  Casino UI is an experimental UI we did some time ago, mainly focussing on design and animation. It was developed using ActionSctip 3.0 in Flash.
  
  The contents of Casino UI are outdated as of now, so please disregard them. We will be coming out with a more kick-ass version of the UI sometime soon, so please bookmark Casino UI.
• Kevin Doherty
  
  This is voice actor Kevin Doherty's website, we developed for One Design. We developed the mp3 player, client-side interface and file manager for the site. Technologies involved - CSS, JavaScript, XHTML, PHP, Flash, and ActionScript 3.0.
• MyBay
  
  MyBay is a Flex application which uses the eBay REST API to search for items on eBay based on numerous parameters. Apart from fetching search results, it maintains a history of checked products and also displays the search statistics in a graphical manner.
  
  MyBay was a very interesting project to work on; it got us familiarized with the eBay REST API as well as introduced us to new concepts in Flex development. The clientside is obviously Flex and the serverside is handled by eBay, but that does not makes processing the result the client end any easier.

  Upada is an AJAX-driven single-page jobsite portal.
  
  The front-end is developed in XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. All DHTML effects were developed in-house. PHP and MySQL were used for serverside development.

  NrMe is an iPhone native application developed by Sourcebits for NrMe LLC. The service behaves like a regional Twitter, but is geared towards sharing information rather than chatting – it’s sort of like a neighborhood bulletin board in the cloud.   This product utilizes the medical industry standard DICOM 3.0 protocol to exchange information with other DICOM compliant devices on the network.
